Business Studies Teacher of the Year: Michael Beacher, Meopham School
Michael is a dedicated teacher and team leader who ensures his students achieve the best outcomes regardless of academic ability. This was particularly evident when the school moved to a new building. Michael’s computer classroom had no windows or air conditioning and, in the summer, temperatures reached well into 30 degrees. Yet he continued to teach, ensuring that students were hydrated and had coping strategies to get the best from the lessons.
Michael also plays a huge part in the Senior Management Team with many of his ideas contributing towards the whole school’s success - including schemes which have radically improved attendance and homework.
