Careers & Destinations

The majority of Meopham Sixth Form students go on to higher education or intermediate and higher Apprenticeships.  All students are supported throughout the process of choosing and applying to university courses and apprenticeships by tutors, sixth form staff and the school’s Careers advisor.

From the start of Year 12, students participate in a number of trips aimed at providing them with the knowledge needed to make an informed decision about future career choices.  Furthermore, throughout the year pupils will take part in a number of presentations and workshops.

Events include;

UK University and Apprenticeship Search fair

University campuses visits

The National Apprenticeship Show

Barclays Life Skills Workshops

Apprenticeship Support and Knowledge (ASK) Programme work shop

Industry guest speakers and external visits to businesses

The destinations of our students for when they leave Year 13 are excellent, this can be partly attributed to our successful Work Experience programme and the dedication of our Sixth Form team to help raise aspirations. Some of the destinations from our 2018 leavers include;

Higher Education Establishments examples; Canterbury Christchurch, University of East London, Oxford Brookes University, University of Bournemouth, University of Winchester, UCA, University of Greenwich and University of Kent.

Apprenticeship/Traineeship Establishments examples; Ministry of Justice, Bank of Canada, Bank of England, FM Conway, Pro Tool Ltd and Evolve Pensions.
